Karen Piccone, Owner/Director

Karen said
her first class in 1999 was like reuniting
with an old friend. She knew the moment
after practice she had found her true path.
Without realizing it, all the years of her
amateur and professional figure skating
and dance had been a silent road map guiding
her entire life to this point. She was entering
a new realm from student to teacher. Within
a year all of her injuries incurred were
healed. It wasn’t until years later a car
accident sent her spiraling into an abyss
of yet more injuries to contend with.( Liking
to refer this time as her crash course in
spirituality) It was yoga and listening
to her body that linked all the pieces together,
bringing healing yet again. This has given
Karen an incredible intuitive & compassionate
sense with her students. Her passion for
yoga and desire to share yoga with the world
radiates brightly. Her classes feel encouraging,
inspiring and all encompassing. Karen is
a registered yoga teacher (RYT) with Yoga
Alliance and is close to 500 hours of teacher
training. Karen was certified with Jimmy
Barkan’s 200 hr. teacher training in 2004.
Since then she has completed Baron Baptistes’
Level 1 & 2/ 200 hour training, senior teacher Lisa Black’s Teacher
Training Intensive, TAPS intermediate and
advanced. She is in deep gratitude
for all her mentors & students who have
helped co-create this amazing vision with
her.

Jessica Perry
Jessica
grew up in Skagit County, taking ballet
classes for 7 years before moving to Bellingham
to attend Western. In Bellingham she found
yoga and realized that it satisfied the
creative aspects of dance that she loved,
but was a healthier and holistic focus for
a constantly shifting life. She studied
at Western for two years before deciding
to travel. She left for India and Nepal
to volunteer, study yoga, and gain some
new perspective. Now she is pursuing a nursing
degree at Whatcom Community College and
practices yoga as a way to relieve the stresses
and pressures of her daily life. Jessica
completed an intensive teacher training
apprenticeship with Karen Piccone and plans
on taking Baron Baptiste's teacher training
certification program within the year.

Sarah Ogmundson
Sarah has been a student
of Baptiste power yoga for three years and
has just embarked on an adventure of teaching.
She recently began teaching at Beyond Limits
Yoga in Bellingham, after intensive study
with Karen Piccone, owner. After completing
the Baptiste teacher training program at Shakti
Vinyasa Yoga in Seattle, Sarah's eyes were
opened to an underlying desire to teach this
powerful practice of life energy and light.
Beginning in the fall of 2009, Sarah will
also continue to pursue her other passion-
music, as she starts study toward a Master's
degree in Flute Performance at the University
of Oregon. With much excitement and joy, she
plans to complete a Level One training with
master teacher Baron Baptiste very soon. She
extends many thanks to all past and present
students that she has had the honor of learning
from and creating with

Alicia Mahaney

Alicia Mahaney
discovered Yoga more than 10 years ago as
the ideal "meditation in motion"
that soothes our minds and builds a strong
body. She's practiced across a range of
styles--including Iyengar, Ashtanga, Hatha,
and Bikram--and finds that Power Vinyasa
offers people a rigorous practice that brings
together simplicity, grace, and most important,
FUN. As a busy writer who juggles clients
and deadlines, she understands how challenging
(and important) it is to find a release
valve that calms, strengthens, and heals.
Alicia recently completed the intensive
apprenticeship program at Beyond Limits
Yoga and is excited to attend Baron Baptiste's
teacher training this winter.
