Karen Piccone -- Ownerkaren
Karen's first yoga class in 1999 was like reuniting with an old friend. She realized at that moment something bigger had been silently guiding her on a deliberate road map to this point. She intuitively felt that life as she knew it would never be the same. She had found her calling and would share this amazing practice with many people as a teacher and student. Yoga was like magic to her injuries and chronic pain. The combination of the heat and postures was like nothing she had ever experienced. Karen started to feel ease and mobility once again in her body for the first time in years.

Timing is everything and the Universe decided to reveal this to Karen in incremental stages. There is no coincidence that her years of intense training as a competitive figure skater with International Olympic coaches instilled within her an edge and the attributes of discipline, commitment, focus and strength that would later serve as her light when darkness fell.

A severe car accident and the passing of her father threw Karen into an abyss of injuries, pain and lessons that she refers to as her "crash course in spirituality". It was also at this time Karen discovered Power Vinyasa Yoga and heard her next mentor's voice, Baron Baptiste, speak the words "Pain is inevitable suffering is optional". Healing this time was like putting a puzzle together. She would find one piece that fit at a time. Not knowing how, led her to "get real with what is" and for the first time in her life started accepting and loving herself.

She calls herself the "injured yoga student's yogini" and has risen from the ashes of adversity with compassion and purpose. From wounded athlete to wounded healer Karen's intention is to help others who feel desperate and immobilized, find hope and wellness in their bodies again through this powerful practice. Today Karen's practice is strong, defies her medical prognosis, and is nothing short of miraculous.

She opened Beyond Limits Yoga in 2006 and is inspired every day by the transformations she witnesses. Karen's innate ambition is motivated from a soul level inspiration and profound desire to create and express herself artistically on many, many, levels. "Teaching and practicing yoga is a sacred communion between the divine, myself and my students. Its nature draws out the highest good in all and keeps our hearts close together as one. I am so thrilled and honored to be apart the Baptiste Community. It is a fellowship that has taught me the most powerful and generous contribution I can make to the world is to share from my heart, just the way I am. When we can tame the beast our (ego), beauty (our spirit) will appear"

She is in deep gratitude for all of her mentors and students who have helped co-create this vision with her and who are helping her live the dream! Through her years of traveling Karen has had the incredible opportunity to practice many styles of yoga with a variety of gifted mentors such as Baron Baptiste, Jimmy Barkan, Lisa Black, Betsey Downing, Amy Ippoliti, Seane Corn, and Ana Forrest.

Chipp Allard
chipp
Chipp Allard has always been active since he was a child. He was very involved in Karate at a young age, track and field in high school, and boxing in his early adulthood. But in 2001 Chipp herniated a disc in his lower back, which brought his life to a stand still.

After three years of chronic pain, doctors, and almost committing to surgery, he found Pilates'. After only six months of dedicated Pilates' classes Chip's sciatic pain diminished, he increased his range of motion, and started to live pain free. So inspired, he started teaching Pilates' in 2007, and in that same time Chipp found his first Yoga class.

After his first Power Yoga class Chipp knew he wanted to take another. The physical benefits he received from his Power Yoga include healthy and happy feet, freedom in his lower back, and a happy honest smile. Mental and emotional blocks came crashing down, opening up his heart on the mat. In the winter of 2009 Chipp took an intensive Yoga Assist workshop from Melissa Newman. His enthusiasm went threw the roof, and he knew he wanted to share his love of Power Yoga.

In August of 2009 Chipp completed Level 1 training with Baron Baptiste, in May of 2010 Chipp went with Baron on a magic carpet ride finding freedom in Level 2, and is still in ongoing training with Baron Baptiste. With a solid Pilates' background, Chipp leads each class with a strong encouraging voice. Working on alignment with verbal cues and hands-on assist. Chipp will take you towards your growing edge time and time again, helping you realize your own strength both physically, and mentally. Chipp is proud to be a teacher and a student of both Pilates', and Power Yoga.
